Homecoming Victory for Jr. Mavericks

The Jr. Mavericks brought home a sweet homecoming victory Saturday as they held off a charging East End Offense and Cameron Walderns scored the games only  touchdown to give us the 6-0 win. The Redfield defense stacked tightly after a win last week over Lake Hamilton gave the little guys the confidence boost they needed to take care of business.  Our defense gave little yardage and our MUCH improved offensive line held tight to a larger East End team that beat these guys 14-6 just 3 short weeks ago. Anyone watching the fellas can see they have improved 100% not just physically, but mentally as well. Keep up the good work guys! We have another Lake Hamilton team coming this weekend with revenge on their minds. 1-2-3 GO MAVERICKS!

Sr. Mavericks Victorious in Homecoming! (can you say 7-1?)

The Sr Mavericks continued on their winning streak Saturday with a 12-7 Homecoming win over the Stingers of East End.  The Stingers, tired of taking it on the chin from the Mavericks came to play Saturday as they scored early putting them up 7-0 before halftime. The Mavericks playing short two key players didn't give up however and fought back with a Quarterback keeper to the right by Alex Stanley who barely slipped in at the pilon to set up the first score for the Mavericks. East End tried to fight back but the defense led by Dillon Bradshaw and Austin Berry wasn't having any of it. The Defensive line of Cody Hurst, Josh Gossage and Kenneth Bower (who played his BEST game ever) didnt allow squat up the middle thus robbing East End of most of their game playbook. A Wide Reciever set pass from Joseph Graham to Zachary Corbitt in the endzone, for one of the prettiest passes and receptions I have seen in a LONG time, proved to be the game winning touchdown. Joseph threaded the needle between 2 East End defenders and Zach never took his eye off the ball catching it right on the numbers. East End threatened with a late game drive deep into Maverick territory but a take away and run back by Joseph Graham sealed the Stingers fate and all we had to do was take a knee to run out the clock as the Sr. Mavericks advanced to 7-1 for the season.

Lake Hamilton will return Saturday with "get even" on their minds...let's change their minds Sr's! 1-2-3 GO MAVERICKS!!
